Which measurements do you need for RoRo shipping?
Send the maximum overall length, width and height, together with the vehicle weight. Include fitted racks, external spare wheels, roof equipment and other accessories. Confirm the operator’s measuring convention for mirrors and removable fittings; catalogue dimensions alone may not describe the vehicle presented at the terminal.
Cars and SUVs
Provide make, model, year, VIN and running condition. Identify low ground clearance, modifications and electric or hybrid powertrains before quoting.
Vans and motorhomes
Include roof equipment, rear carriers and tow fittings in the measurement review. List fixed equipment and any contents; personal belongings need express carrier approval.
Trucks and machinery
Supply operating and transport dimensions, weight, axle information and photographs. Non-running equipment, trailers and unusual lifting or towing needs require individual acceptance.

Which documents should you prepare?
Start with proof of ownership, registration details, VIN, your identification and the receiving party’s details. Depending on the direction and transaction, the agent may need purchase information, export authorisation or import approvals. Check the exact vehicle’s eligibility before booking: a transport quote does not guarantee permission to import, register or drive it in the destination country.
Temporary movements, relocation vehicles and permanent commercial imports can follow different procedures. Ask the receiving specialist to confirm the applicable documents and taxes for your circumstances.
How should the vehicle be prepared?
Follow the booked carrier’s written instructions for fuel, battery condition, keys and alarm systems. Declare electric or hybrid propulsion, damage and any suspected battery fault before acceptance. Do not assume that instructions from another shipping line apply to your booking.
Clean the vehicle for inspection, remove unapproved loose belongings and photograph its condition before handover. Australia and other destinations may require additional cleanliness or biosecurity checks. Confirm the terminal, appointment, release process and who collects at destination.
Can you ship belongings inside the vehicle?
Only if the carrier explicitly accepts the contents in writing. A RoRo vehicle space is not a household-goods container. List any intended contents before quoting; unapproved belongings can lead to refusal or additional handling.
